One Year Anniversary!
First I'm so sorry that I haven't written in so long. This year has just been flying by that my head is spinning.
Can you believe about this time last year we met this beautiful bouncing baby boy that would change our lives forever?

The last 12 months have gone by so fast however it seem as if Jack has been a part of our lives forever. I couldn't imagine our lives without him.
Some cute things Jack is doing or learning...
1) He's obsessed with Tractors and Construction Vehicles - Our neighbor recently went to a farm show a brought home tractor pamphlets for him. He takes them everywhere, including the bathtub, bed, car rides.
2) He's loves to learn! He can't say Cat or Dog as of yet so instead he says Meow and Woof.
3) Jack loves being out doors, it's really hard to get him to come in at night to settle down for bath time and dinner.
4) Because he does prefer to be outdoors then in door he doesn't watch much television. (Which is great!) except for the Movie Cars! We can get him to watch about the 1st 15-20 Min's of the movie (the race scene) and then he's off....However the has lapped over into the NASCAR world thanks to Frank, Lou and Steve. (OH NO!)
5) He's such a happy baby. I have a really good feeling that he's going to be the class clown at school or prankster. Which may or may not be a good thing but at them moment he's doing everything in his power to make us laugh constantly.
It's almost that time of year when everything REALLY starts to speed up. The Holiday Season. Jack's 1st Gotcha Day is September 8Th. We're going to go to the local Vietnamese restaurant for dinner and we bought a coloring book bigger than him with truck and tractors. We purchased a bunch items in Vietnam to give to him on his Gotcha Day birthdays but decided this year we'll wait since he's still so young.
To all the family that are coming up on their 1st Gotcha Day....Happy Anniversary!

Offical Name change...
Tran Hue Nghia is officially Jack Kenneth Amidon!
Yesterday we received the great news from our lawyer that our re-adoption for Jack went through and he's officially Jack Kenneth Amidon and NO ONE can ever take him away from us.
Plus! The Judge was able to get our paperwork done and signed for Dec. 30, 2008 so we can claim him on our 2008 taxes for the Adoption tax credits! YIPPEE!

I'm a horrilbe blogger!
So much has been going on I haven't had the time to post in Months! I feel like the last few months have just flown by. Let me fill you in! We'll start with Jack and his milestones...
1) He said his first words! Yep! That's right he said...."Kitty, Kitty!" I'm sad to say I wasn't there to hear them the first time but he re said it for Daddy and I. He was at Grandmas for the day when Uncle Matt came over and they were playing with Grandma's kittens. I so wish I was there for that. So now we have the don't ask, don't tell policy with Grandma. So He WILL do all his firsts at home! :)
2) Jack took his first steps. He spent the day after thanksgiving with Daddy while mommy and cousin Shannon did our annual Christmas shopping. He was so miserable when I got home I couldn't put him down to take my shoes off! So after about an hour of carrying him around I put him down and boy he didn't want any of that so he got up and walked right over to me. I was so excited I screamed and clapped and scared him so he hasn't done it again since! So were working on it :)
3) Jack has 7 teeth! So we're learning how to brush his teeth. He actually really enjoys this! We bought the baby Orajel, the one that come with the finger brush and tube of paste. We put the brush on the end of the tube and he goes to town brushing his teeth!
4) Thankfully he's sleeping through the night. We'll for the most part. He wakes up and fusses for about 2-3 Min's about 4-5 times a night. We just go in his check on him make sure he has his bottle and he's usually back to sleep before we get into his room. Mom and Dad are really happy about this. We REALLY miss our sleep.
OK, I think you're caught up on milestones for Jack now. Some quick things on mom and dad.
1) Mom went back to work back in early Nov. But after about a month of that I decided I needed a change so I started a new job. I've been there for a week this coming Monday and the ladies there all seem really nice and the work is challenging and interesting. Plus I have different hours so I get to spend more time with Jack, which of course is a great thing.
2) Daddy's been really busy this Christmas season! I'm very lucky to have a husband that likes to cook! He's been cooking up a storm this holiday season! I think I've gained 5lbs since Thanksgiving.
We're all really getting into the holiday season this year. Every weekend we've been trying to make a new holiday tradition. I do have to admit sometimes it's hard to find some things to do with a 11 month old!
This New year is going to be a very special new year for us. It's the start of our first year with Jack. Plus Jack turns 1! Yep our little man was born on 1/1/08. So this year were having Jack's Rock'in New Year! We're celebrating the New Year and Jack's first birthday on 12/31/08. This should be so much fun. I think I'm looking forward more to his party then Christmas! LOL!
If I get too busy to post again for awhile have a wonderful Holiday Season, Merry Christmas and a Grand New Year!

Welcome to America!
Today is a great monumental day for Jack. As of today Jack is a American Citizen!
We'll actually since the 6Th of October we just received his certificate today in the mail.
And we've also started the re-adoption process for him in the states. This process could take 3-12 months. A few reasons to readopt in the states...
1) A Legal & Binding U.S. Birth Certificate Whether your child is getting a driver's license or adopting one day, your child will need a copy of her birth certificate at different points in her lifetime. It would be much easier for your child to seek a copy of her birth certificate through your state's department of vital records than try to get one (if it still exists) in her birth country.
2) A Legal Name Change Can Be Completed If you desire to have your child's name legally changed, re-adoption is the time to complete this change.
3) Not all U.S. States Will Recognize a Foreign Adoption Decree There are eighteen states and the District of Columbia, and four U.S. Territories that have no statutory provisions regarding international adoptions.
4) So, You Live in a State that Recognizes Foreign Adoptions - What if You Move?If you happen to move into one of the above mentioned states that do not recognize a foreign adoption decree there could be trouble. For example, your child may not be seen as a legal heir.
5) Re-adoption Is Another Reason to Have a Party!Re-adoption gives you another day to plan an event to celebrate your child's adoption.
Re-adoption may be a hassle, but the hassle may be worth it in the long run.

The great thing is though is we already have Jack in our lives. So the waiting for this process to end won't be half as bad as when we were waiting for Jack.

Life is Good!
We've been home for a few weeks now with Jack and enjoying every minute of our time together.
Jack is doing great. He's bonding so well. He's mostly sleeping through the night, spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa and playing with everything he can get his hands on including Mr. Parker Noodles Tail!
Next weekend Grandma is throwing him a "Welcome home party" for him so he can meet the extended family members. It's a good thing Jack likes people, he has a lot of extended family members! :)
We spent last weekend at the apple farm in Mexico. We quickly found out that Jack is still a little too small to enjoy the farm animals and the other activities. However he did pick out his own pumpkin and insisted on holding it the rest of the day.
I've been a really bad blogger these last few weeks we've been home. Now that Jeramy is back to work and Jack is taking longer naps I plan to to start updating my blog again for Jack.
I just wonder if anyone is still reading it???? :)
